December Devotional

John 1:14 (NIV)

“The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.”

In this verse, the Apostle John explains that the Son of God, Jesus Christ, became human and lived a perfect life filled with grace and truth. Christ humbled Himself by living as a man and enduring the hardships of earthly life, including death, for our sake. This not only makes Him relatable but also demonstrates His profound love for us. Although we may not have witnessed Christ’s life in the flesh as John did, we are still recipients of God’s freely given gifts of salvation and eternal life through Christ. The truth of His grace makes all the difference in our lives today and for eternity!

December Topic of Discussion: Mediation – The Path to Resolution & Reconciliation

When we experience harm, whether it’s financial, emotional, or relational, we naturally seek to have those wrongs made right. However, we often find ourselves unable to resolve these issues on our own, which is why we need mediators to step in. Mediators play a critical role in resolving conflicts and creating opportunities for reconciliation. It’s important to understand that accountability and correction are also part of the mediation process. Scripture teaches us that our wrongdoings come with consequences and that, on our own, we cannot mend these wrongs or restore our relationship with God (see Isaiah 59:2,  Romans 6:23, and Romans 3:23). The good news is that Jesus acts as our mediator and savior, bridging the gap between humanity and God while also paying the price for our transgressions. (see 2 Corinthians 5:18 and John 3:16-17).

In what ways has mediation positively impacted your wellness? How can accepting Christ as your mediator and savior help unlock your full potential and transform your life? What can you do today to live out the truth of Christ’s work as your Mediator and Savior?
